Hooker Ashley Dupré drops lawsuit against Joe Francis
Hooker Ashley Dupré, whose liaisons with Gov. Eliot Spitzer led to his unseating, has dropped her $10 million dollar lawsuit against soft porn peddler Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild (GGW) fame.


July 3, 2008 (Sawf News) - Hooker Ashley Dupré, whose liaisons with Gov. Eliot Spitzer led to his unseating, has dropped her $10 million dollar lawsuit against soft porn peddler Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild (GGW) fame.

"Ms. Dupré wants to eliminate all negativity from her life and focus on the positive," Dupré's attorney Richard C. Wolfe said in a statement. "She has prospects for many exciting new projects and is looking forward to starting a new chapter."

Dupré had posed topless for GGW in 2003 when she was 17-year-old. After the Spitzer scandal broke the website realized they had dealt with her and released teasers of the footage, prompting Dupré to slap them with a $10 million lawsuit.

In her lawsuit, Dupré had accused GGW of having tricked her into signing a release form.

Responding to the lawsuit, Francis said he was "surprised and in fact amazed" by her claims. He released video footage showing Dupré providing his camera crew with identification that showed she was 18, and pointed out that GGW had not released the Dupré video "due to corporate policy of not using footage of individuals younger than 18."

Dupré had gone under the radar immediately after she was identified on March 12 by The New York Times as the hooker Spitzer's had been spending time with at state expense.

She re-emerged from her hiding late last month with a post on her MySpace page.

Following the scandal, Dupré was offered $1 million by Hustler magazine to pose nude, and received similar offers from Penthouse magazine and Vivid Entertainment.

The 23-year-old, whose real name is Ashley DiPietro, has two singles to her credit, both of which acquired fame after the scandal.

She is now keen for a career in showbiz and is reportedly being represented by music manager Jerry Blair, who formerly worked for Mariah Carey.
