February 05, 2012, (Sawf News) - Anushka Sharma dropped jaws in a voluminous Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla Anarkali dress at the wedding reception of Genelia D'Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh at Hotel Grand Hyatt in Mumbai on Saturday, February 4.

Anushka, 23, took a break from back to back performances at Award Shows and let her hair down for an evening to celebrate the wedding of her two pals and colleagues.

Anushka's long sleeve organdy dress ending at the ankles featured a plunging neckline, emerald green patterened bodice, and gota and rainbow-inspired colorful silk ribbon detailing on the nude 48 paneled skirt.

The dress is from 2011 Organdy collection of the designer duo.

We quizzed Anushka's stylist, Nisha Kundnani, on her inspiration for the star's look for the evening : beautiful, young, relate-able and dressed appropriately for a friend's wedding!

"The idea was to make Anushka look like a real girl attending a real wedding...even though she's a Bollywood celebrity who was to attend a big fat bollywood wedding. I wanted to keep it young, fresh and kind of celebratory. I didn't want her to look over dressed to someone's personal event as this was not a red carpet extravaganza. She did not outshine the bride or the immediate family, therefore the anarkali churidaar was our best bet."

"Legendary designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla were roped in and inspired by Anushka's fabulous tall frame they advised a dramatic voluminous anarkali with silk ribbon detailing in multi colour. By and large Anushka and I stick to simplicity when it comes to Indian, this time we wished to have more fun. The neutral beige color of the anarkali set the tone right for the over all coloured ribbon detailing."

Anushka's accessories matched the drama of her dress without competing with it: golden bow top peep toe heels from her personal collection, an antique gold embellished Malga clutch, and gold plated silver meenakari drop earrings.

Her hair was styled by celeb hair stylist Zoey in a no-fuss side swept loose waves.

Celeb makeup artist Puneet Saini used her magic touch on Anushka's face with an all MAC makeup. She used black Smolder Eye Kohl pencil and Blacktrack the Fluidline Black Gel eyeliner to create the smoky eyes. Her natural toned glow blush (Sheentone blush in Sincere) perfectly set off her dramatic eye makeup. She completed the look with peachy beige MAC Amplified Lipstick - Underplay, topped with instant gold Lustreglass for hi-shine.
